Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Academy Find Success

After losing to Grace Christian Academy the last time they met, Heritage Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Heritage Christian Academy Lions made off with a 54-53 victory over the Grace Christian Academy Colts. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one point.

Among those leading the charge was Matthew Pappas, who posted 21 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Raiden Harrison, who had 12 points.

Brycen Adams and Nash Reading certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Adams dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Reading went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Grace Christian Academy is 3-1 when Reading posts three or more steals, but 2-5 otherwise. Kasyn Gaston was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Heritage Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-15. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Grace Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Heritage Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Joshua Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-43 defeat against Community Christian on the 6th.
