Volleyball Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Gatesville Hornets

Troy has been away from home for ten games now, but on Tuesday they'll finally make their return. After both having extra time off, they and the Gatesville Hornets will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Troy was able to grind out a solid victory over Taylor, taking the game 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-14, 11-25, 25-13, 25-21.

Troy found their leader in underclassman Cadence Negron, who had 25 digs and three aces.

Troy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Gatesville earned a 3-1 win over Lampasas on Tuesday.

In the three sets Gatesville was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 22-25, 25-11.

Troy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Gatesville, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
