Taconic has gone 8-2 against Monument Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Thunder will square off against the Spartans at 2:00 p.m. Taconic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Westfield hit Taconic with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunder took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bombers. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taconic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Paronto, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Monument Mountain had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Mounties. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly 11 runs.

Monument Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Taconic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Taconic beat Monument Mountain 6-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
