Softball Game Preview: Poynette Pumas vs. Pacelli Cardinals

The Poynette Pumas will square off against the Pacelli Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Poynette came out on top against Monona Grove on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Pumas put the hurt on the Silver Eagles with a sharp 12-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pumas.

Meanwhile, Pacelli strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Medford 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their two-run performance the game before.

Pacelli's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Poynette, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
