Volleyball Recap: Watchung Hills Regional Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Hillsborough

Watchung Hills Regional faced Hillsborough in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Warriors fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on April 8th.

Watchung Hills Regional's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Hillsborough, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Watchung Hills Regional is set to face off against their familiar foe Hunterdon Central at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hillsborough will take on rival Bridgewater-Raritan at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Raiders have won six straight at home, while the Panthers won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
