Volleyball Recap: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Louisville Lions

Plattsmouth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Louisville Lions, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Plattsmouth was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 25-23.

Piper Fitzpatrick paced Plattsmouth's offense, picking up ten kills. Fitzpatrick got some help from Addison Robinson and her 21 assists. Robinson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Rosie Sanchez, each putting up five.

Kelsey Haynes was nothing short of spectacular for Louisville: she had 17 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave Haynes a new career-high. Noelle Larson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Plattsmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Louisville, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Plattsmouth will head out on the road to face off against Conestoga on Tuesday. As for Louisville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Mercy on the 27th.
