Baseball Recap: Osbourn Park Has No Trouble Against Osbourn

Osbourn Park won the last time they faced Osbourn and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-1 win. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.

Eli Laughman looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lucas Duncan was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Osbourn Park is undefeated when Duncan posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Bobby Shearin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Osbourn Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osbourn only managed one hit.

The victory made it two in a row for Osbourn Park and bumps their season record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Osbourn, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osbourn Park will welcome Gainesville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Osbourn, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Manassas Park at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
