Basketball Game Preview: O'Connor Eagles vs. Pinnacle Pioneers

O'Connor and Pinnacle are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The O'Connor Eagles will square off against the Pinnacle Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Connor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Pinnacle likes a good challenge.

O'Connor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Boulder Creek, who was ranked third at the time (O'Connor was ranked eighth). O'Connor was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 62-61 to Boulder Creek. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a blow against Boulder Creek, falling 76-43.

O'Connor's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Pinnacle, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

O'Connor was able to grind out a solid victory over Pinnacle when the teams last played back in January, winning 69-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for O'Connor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
