Football Recap: Dane Wilckens Leads Concordia's Defense on Friday

Concordia lost against Lincoln back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fighting Orioles took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Fighting Orioles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Concordia took the loss, they still got scores from Dane Wilckens, Lane Hass, and Nephi Hon.

Even if they lost, Concordia's defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Wilckens, Maddix Inman, Jared Bermudez, and Brayden Frerking picked up two apiece. Frerking also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.

Concordia's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lincoln, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Concordia will take on Orrick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Orioles will be up against the Bearcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lincoln, they will square off against Norborne/Hardin-Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln will need to watch out since Norborne/Hardin-Central has now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
