Western Branch extends home winning streak to three

Recap: Western Branch Bruins vs. Nansemond River Warriors

The Western Branch Bruins entered their tilt with the Nansemond River Warriors with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Western Branch came out on top against Nansemond River by a score of 71-59 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Western Branch had a senior duo take command as Viktor Parson scored 18 points and Ellis Wright scored 17 points. Wright hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae'Marree Parker, who scored ten points.

Western Branch pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Nansemond River, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Branch will stay at home for another game and welcome Great Bridge at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Western Branch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 351 points over their last five matches. As for Nansemond River, they will be playing at home against King's Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Nansemond River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 109th, while King's Fork is ranked 30th).
