League recap: Lake Nona extends winning streak with victory over Gateway

Lake Nona added to the longest winning streak in 7A District 6 this week by beating Gateway, 21-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Osceola took down Auburndale 40-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. DAEQUAN HARRISON threw for 22 yards, ran for 84 yards and caught 1 pass for 15 yards in the win.

TUCKER ISRAEL threw for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 16-31 with 1 interception.

HARRISON was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 5 carries, he ran for 84 yards as the Kowboys fell to Liberty. Teammate LADERRIEN WILSON added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.

Anthony Paradiso's team's ISRAEL and RYAN SOUSA have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback ISRAEL has thrown for 1,699 yards this season, while SOUSA has 50 catches for 860 yards. Saragusa from the Storm leads the league in rushing with 539 yards.

The top two teams in 7A District 6 will face off this week when first place Lake Nona takes on second place Osceola. Lake Nona topped the Panthers last week, while Osceola beat the Bloodhounds.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Lake Nona and Doug Nichols' team face off next week.

There should be lots of points scored when the Kowboys and Lake Nona face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Osceola comes in having scored 181 this season, while Lake Nona has scored 167. The Kowboys scored 40 points last week as they defeated Auburndale.
