Baseball Recap: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners
Cheyenne stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past the Sunrise Mountain Miners 14-3. The victory was some much needed relief for Cheyenne as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Alex Garcia was a standout: he went 2-for-2 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Brandon Hidalga Aranda was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Cheyenne's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
