Basketball Recap: West Feliciana Takes a Loss

After flying high against Plaquemine last Tuesday, West Feliciana came back down to earth. The West Feliciana Saints fell just short of the St. Michael Warriors by a score of 36-33 on Friday. That makes it the first time this season the Saints have let down their home crowd.

Despite the loss, West Feliciana saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sanaya Berry posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ariannah Smith, who put up 11 points.

West Feliciana's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for St. Michael, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

West Feliciana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-39 loss against Brusly on the 11th. As for St. Michael, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-39 defeat against Plaquemine on the 11th.
