Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Wallace County Wildcats

Decatur Community hasn't had much luck against Wallace County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Decatur Community Red Devils will take on the Wallace County Wildcats in a tournament on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Decatur Community was beaten by Hoxie 73-46.

Despite the defeat, Decatur Community got top-tier performance from Tyler Ostmeyer, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Ostmeyer has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gage Williby, who earned 13 points.

Meanwhile, Wallace County managed to keep up with Quinter until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wallace County lost 64-41 to Quinter. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Decatur Community's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Wallace County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Decatur Community suffered a grim 64-42 defeat to Wallace County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Decatur Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
