New Town extends home winning streak to eight

Recap: New Town vs. Sparrows Point Pointers

New Town had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Sparrows Point by a score of 45-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as New Town also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.

Nialah Mingo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. She has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times she's played.

New Town pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Sparrows Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-3.

New Town will head out on the road to take on the Bay Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chesapeake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the are ranked 48th). As for Sparrows Point, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dulaney is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
