Plainfield and Killingly are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Trailblazers at 4:15 p.m. Killingly took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Plainfield, who comes in off a win.

Plainfield took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Lyman Memorial 11-3. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Killingly came up short against Montville on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Killingly saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Violet Schaefer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Killingly's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Plainfield, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8.

Plainfield couldn't quite get it done against Killingly in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
