Baseball Recap: Moscow Takes a Loss

Moscow saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Borah Lions by a score of 13-12. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by just one run.

Moscow got a good showing from Mason Helbling, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Tyson Izzo and Connor Isakson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Izzo went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Isakson scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Isakson also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Gunnar Holloway was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Moscow's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Borah, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moscow will head out to face off against Coeur d'Alene at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Borah, they will venture away from home to take on Owyhee at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
