Basketball Recap: Wando Warriors vs. Stratford Knights
Wando was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stratford Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-65 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Wando still got an impressive performance from Owen Schafer, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Schafer a new career-high. Sully Templeton was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 15 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stratford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zanquel Baldwin, who posted 27 points. Another player making a difference was Khristion Swift, who put up 19 points.
Wando's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Stratford, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
Wando and Stratford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Wando will face off against Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 141 places (162 vs. 21). Meanwhile, Stratford (ranked 145th) will meet West Ashley (ranked 35th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
