Volleyball Recap: Layton Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The Layton Lancers got the win against the Cyprus Pirates on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Layton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-22.

Layton was led to victory by Andy Page and Ben Peterson. Page had 20 digs, while Peterson had 28 assists and two aces. Those 20 digs gave Page a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Layton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cyprus only served six aces.

Layton's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Cyprus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
