Baseball Game Preview: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Burlington-Edison Tigers

The Lake Stevens Vikings will challenge the Burlington-Edison Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lake Stevens fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bishop Blanchet on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Lake Stevens got a good showing from Manny McLaurin, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Lake Stevens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Bouley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Burlington-Edison won against Bellingham on Thursday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Burlington-Edison didn't even let Squalicum on the board, marking Burlington-Edison's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lake Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Burlington-Edison, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
