Baseball Recap: DeSoto Takes a Loss

DeSoto dropped their record down to 6-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Pacific Indians, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dragons have suffered since March 22nd.

As for Pacific, their win bumped their record up to 7-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Pacific's part, Bennett Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. Parker has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Colton Kossuth was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Trey Kulick, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeSoto will welcome North County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pacific, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Sullivan at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 2.2, the Eagles 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
