Baseball Recap: Medfield Takes a Loss

Medfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westwood Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Charlie Duggan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Bills, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Medfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Westwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Medfield will face off against rival Medway at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Westwood is set to take on their familiar foe Ashland at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
