Football Recap: Branson/Kim Takes a Loss

If Branson/Kim was riding high fresh off their 73-13 takedown of Primero last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bearcats took a blow against the Cheyenne Wells Tigers on Saturday, falling 56-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bearcats were not able to get on the board.

Cooper Winter threw for 68 yards on six of 16 attempts. Will Doherty was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards.

Branson/Kim's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cheyenne Wells, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Branson/Kim will square off against Eads at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bearcats will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.1 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cheyenne Wells, they will take on Prairie at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 30.7 points per game this season.
