Recap: Father Capodanno Grunts vs. North Moore Mustangs
The Father Capodanno Grunts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Moore.
Despite the loss, Father Capodanno still got an impressive performance from Julie Attar, who scored 20 points. That was a full 52.6% of Father Capodanno's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
North Moore's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calissa Clendenin led the charge by scoring six points along with 15 rebounds and four steals. Clendenin hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeikierra Young, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Father Capodanno's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for North Moore, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Father Capodanno won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lee Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th.
