Basketball Recap: Gibbon's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Gibbon can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-65 victory over the Silver Lake Mustangs. The Buffaloes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lane Conway, who went 10 for 15 on his way to 29 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 29 points gave Conway a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Duester, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Gibbon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Silver Lake, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Gibbon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-43 victory against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on the 20th. As for Silver Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-37 loss against Kenesaw on the 20th.
