Smithville has gone 9-1 against Rittman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Smithies will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Smithville is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Smithville after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Dalton, falling 12-6.

Caitlin Walsh-Knouff made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Kiersten Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Rittman, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Central Christian on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lillian Halliwell was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison Hollabaugh, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Alexis LaBo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rittman, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5.

Everything went Smithville's way against Rittman in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Smithville made off with a 13-6 victory. Do the Smithies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
