While Sentinel put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Hellgate. The Spartans blew past the Knights 9-0. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Alyssa Hanninen was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Hanninen was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Wright, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Makenna Thorson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Sentinel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 6-3 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory got Sentinel back to even at 10-10. As for Hellgate, their defeat was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-15.
