Football Recap: Vandegrift Finds Playoff Glory Versus Harlan

It's playoff time, and Vandegrift had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Harlan Hawks, posting a 47-14 victory. Considering the Vipers have won ten matches by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Miles Teodecki, who threw for 259 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards. Those 36 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. George Farley was another key player, picking up 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Vandegrift didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hollister Stephens, Ian Witt, and Matthew Draeken picked up one apiece. Stephens is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last five games he's played.

Harlan's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Payton Matthews and Adrien Mcdade. Matthews picked up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Mcdade rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown.

The win was the 12th in a row for Vandegrift, bringing their record for this year to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.1 points per game. As for Harlan, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Vandegrift will challenge Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Both have allowed few points on average, (Summer Creek: 11.9, Vandegrift: 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Harlan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
