Recap: Fallbrook Warriors vs. Valley Center Jaguars
The Fallbrook Warriors suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Valley Center by a score of 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Myers, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Charland, who scored nine points.
Carson Yoder was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with two steals for Valley Center. Yoder has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Garcia, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Fallbrook's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-10. As for Valley Center, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fallbrook will square off against Escondido at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escondido is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Valley Center, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Carmel is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
