Preview: West Side Pirates vs. Declo Hornets
The West Side Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Declo Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Side is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
West Side posted their biggest win since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 49-22 victory over Aberdeen at home. The victory was just what West Side needed coming off of a 71-22 defeat in their prior game.
Aynslee Stewart was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommi Henderson, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Declo earned a 45-38 win over Raft River on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Declo.
West Side's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. Declo's record now sits at 14-5.
West Side came up short against Declo when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 42-30. Can West Side avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
