Baseball Recap: Beverly Find Success

Beverly never let their opponents score on Thursday. They came out on top against the Danvers Falcons by a score of 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Falcons back in April, they had to take a 7-1 loss.

Not much got past Micah McMannus, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Danvers off the board. McMannus also tossed no walks, which is notable because Beverly is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Beverly's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Charles Salerno, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Beverly and bumps their season record up to 5-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Danvers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Beverly will be playing in front of their home fans against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Witches' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Danvers, they will challenge Gloucester at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
