Softball Recap: Byron Tigers vs. Oregon Hawks
If Byron was feeling good fresh off their 14-7 takedown of Genoa-Kingston on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Oregon Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Monday.
Mia Girten made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jaidra Poe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run.
Byron dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Oregon, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4.
