First Baptist Christian had won three straight games and Micah Shrum did his part to make it four on Saturday. The First Baptist Christian Warriors claimed a resounding 68-33 victory over the Humble Christian Cougars thanks in part to Shrum, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.

Humble Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Devin Simpson and Jackson Green. Simpson posted 14 points, while Green had 16 points.

First Baptist Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Humble Christian, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: First Baptist Christian beat Humble Christian by a score of 87-61 later that day.
