Basketball Recap: Show Low Cougars vs. Snowflake Lobos
After a string of seven wins, the Show Low Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 47-35 to Snowflake. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Show Low has scored all season.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sidney Stahl, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Boyce, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Show Low's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-2. As for Snowflake, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Show Low will square off against the Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Payson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Cougars are ranked eighth). As for Snowflake, they will head out on the road to take on the Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Holbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
