Grand Junction Central took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Rampart Rams with a sharp 12-6 victory. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered an 11-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Braydan Hartman was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hartman was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Shahan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Trevor Ziek, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Looking ahead, Grand Junction Central will challenge Palmer Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Rampart, they will square off against Fruita Monument at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
