Baseball Recap: George County's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

George County won the last time they faced Hancock and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Hawks 9-8. The victory was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on four straight.

Canyon Reeves made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Ben Davis was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

George County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Hancock, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-13.

George County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
