Volleyball Recap: Overland Comes Up Short

Overland lost against Littleton Public Schools back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trailblazers lost 3-0 to Littleton Public Schools.

While Overland was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Vincent Johnson and Gaige Butler, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Ethan Do and his 11 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Littleton Public Schools had a senior duo take command as Reid Ballard had 12 digs and Hayden DeJager had 14 assists and six digs. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Ballard.

Overland has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season. As for Littleton Public Schools, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Overland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Cherokee Trail on the 18th. As for Littleton Public Schools, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Mullen on the 22nd.
