Baseball Recap: Choudrant Wins Going Away Against Downsville

Choudrant barely beat Downsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Aggies were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Demons on Thursday. The Aggies not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.

Colton Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Choudrant is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-13 otherwise. Smith was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Rhett James was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Cash Camp was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Choudrant's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Downsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Choudrant will take on St. Frederick at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Downsville, they will challenge Bossier at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
