Delta had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over the Pagosa Springs Pirates on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Pagosa Springs lost, don't look at Creede Dozier. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points.

Coincidentally, Delta and Pagosa Springs will both be playing Gunnison the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Pirates will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
