Softball Recap: Walnut Grove Victorious

Walnut Grove's tournament run continued when they took on Grapevine on Friday. The Walnut Grove Wildcats came out on top against the Grapevine Mustangs by a score of 5-2.

Walnut Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Adkins, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Adkins a new career-high in RBI (two). Kailee James was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Walnut Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Grapevine has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Walnut Grove will face off against Denison at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grapevine, they will take on Lake Ridge in a tournament on Saturday.
