Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Huskies vs. Roosevelt Mustangs

For the second straight game, Centennial will face off against Roosevelt. The Huskies will head out on the road to square off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Centennial has three straight victories, Roosevelt has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Centennial sidestepped Roosevelt for a 2-1 win.

Charles Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Mendoza, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Mendoza has posted since back in February.

Roosevelt now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
