Baseball Recap: Hopkins' Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Hopkins fell victim to Vicksburg and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Merek Zapolnik was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Hopkins saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Ford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
