Soccer Recap: Knox Central Takes a Loss

The matchup between Knox Central and South Laurel on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Panthers came up short against the Cardinals, falling 8-0. If Knox Central were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to South Laurel when the teams met back in September of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Knox Central's record now sits at 0-9. As for South Laurel, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-2.

Looking ahead, Knox Central is taking a road trip to face off against Middlesboro at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Knox Central will be up against Middlesboro's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.1 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Laurel, they will be playing at home against Lincoln County at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
