Softball Game Preview: East Liverpool Potters vs. Carrollton Warriors

East Liverpool is 0-3 against Carrollton since March of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Potters are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. East Liverpool has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Liverpool is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-15 heartbreaker at the hands of Chaney. Even if the Potters couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Trinity Pearson led a balanced group of hitters, going 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Addie Jones was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Carrollton came up short against Minerva on Tuesday and fell 7-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carrollton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kearsten Ball, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Rylie Alborn also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for East Liverpool, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-20.

East Liverpool suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Carrollton in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Potters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
