Recap: Harding Presidents vs. Seymour Wildcats

The Harding Presidents pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Seymour on the road and fell 90-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Harding has suffered since December 20, 2023.

Harding's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Craig Chandler, who scored 19 points along with seven blocks and three steals. Chandler has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Guillaume Mulenga Jr., who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Harding struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Seymour racked up 24 assists.

Seymour's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joey Carrafiello, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Carrafiello has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jaquan Ellis was another key contributor, as he made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 24 points and 1 assist.

Harding's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Seymour, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Career Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
