Football Recap: Elijah Butler's Menacing Defense Leads Mt. Zion Prep Academy over Loudoun Sports Academy

Mt. Zion Prep Academy got their first taste of in-conference action on Saturday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Loudoun Sports Academy Timberwolves. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly seven points.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Elijah Butler, Marquise Purvis, and Tyler Owens picked up one apiece. Purvis is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last three games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Mt. Zion Prep Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points in those games. As for Loudoun Sports Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 35-0 win against Hewlett Sports Academy on the 15th. As for Loudoun Sports Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-14 defeat against Friendship Collegiate Academy on the 14th.
