Softball Recap: Royal Highlanders vs. Simi Valley Pioneers
Royal proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Simi Valley Pioneers 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.

Julianna Galbraith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Marilyn Augusta was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Emily Albert, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
