Soccer Recap: South Gwinnett Starts Season with Win at Home

South Gwinnett gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Apalachee Wildcats a 3-0 shutout. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Eylin Orellana Gonzalez and Emily Sanchez-Rodriguez scored all three of South Gwinnett's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Gwinnett will take on Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Apalachee, they will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on Lanier at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
