Basketball Game Preview: Oxford Academy Patriots vs. Artesia Pioneers

Oxford Academy is 0-10 against Artesia since January of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Oxford Academy Patriots will head out to face off against the Artesia Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Oxford Academy will be strutting in after a win while Artesia will be coming in after a defeat.

Oxford Academy will head into Monday's match on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Glenn on Monday. Oxford Academy put the hurt on Glenn with a sharp 68-42 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Artesia unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Warren by a score of 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pioneers have suffered since January 13, 2024.

Oxford Academy's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 12-8. As for Artesia, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Oxford Academy came up short against Artesia in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 56-51. Can Oxford Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
