Baseball Recap: St. Patrick Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

St. Patrick proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the West Harrison Hurricanes 5-3. The Fighting Irish haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Cameron Broom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Alden Williams was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jasper Moran was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

St. Patrick's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs over those games. As for West Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, St. Patrick will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Picayune at 7:00 p.m. Picayune's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so St. Patrick's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Harrison, they will head out on the road to square off against Gulfport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gulfport will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
